Free crochet Pumpkin keychain pattern

I love big bags that are very practical: you can pack a lot of stuff in them. The curse of greatness, however, is that I always have trouble finding my keys. This big and cute keychain solved this problem.

To crochet this useful pumpkin you need:

  • yarn in orange, green and brown-ish orange (100% acrylic, 50 g/ 135 m)

  • black yarn for the mouth and eyebrows

  • 4.0 mm crochet hook

  • 10 mm safety eyes

  • fiberfill

  • big sewing needle and scissors

  • keyring

The finished crochet pumpkin is about 9 x 12 cm.

Assembly

  1. You will need a long piece of brown-ish orange yarn to make slices of pumpkin. Bring the yarn needle through the center, from the bottom to the top, then wrap it around the pumpkin, bring the needle through the center, from the bottom to the top again, and pull tight. Repeat until you have 6 even sections. Repeat this for a stronger hold.

  1. Pull the key ring onto the stem and then sew the stem to the side of the pumpkin.

  2. Sew the nose to the pumkin.

    Between Rnd 15 – Rnd 18.

  1. Shape the eyes and mouth.

Eyes: Between Rnd 18-19. Mouth: Rnd 13-15.

  2. Crochet the tendril, and fix the leaf on the pumpkin.

Tendril: pull through the green yarn on the bottom of the stem with one of the stitches and crochet 18 ch.

2 sc in each 17 st from the 2nd stitch from hook.

Fasten off and weave the ends.

  1. Insert the eyes (there are three stitches between the eyes), and embroider the mouth as well as the eyebrows with black thread. Whether your little pumpkin is hilarious or angry or mischievous etc., it's up to you.

I hope you enjoyed making a little pumpkin.

The finished small pumpkin can be used not only as a keychain, but also as an ornament to hang on a bag or as a Halloween decoration.
